About me.
Joanne is an AHPRA registered Clinical Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Joanne works with adults of all ages and has extensive experience the areas of anxiety, mood disorders (including depression), personality disorders, adjustment to life transitions, chronic illness, pain management, complex trauma, grief and loss. Joanne believes in creating a safe emotional space whilst working alongside her clients to help them achieve meaningful change in their everyday life.
Joanne has trained in evidence based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). With this training, Joanne combines aspects from these therapeutic approaches to formulate an individualised treatment plan.
Joanne is warm and compassionate. She is passionate about providing you with the support you need to overcome life’s challenges. Joanne sees therapy as an opportunity for you to engage in empathic self-reflection in order to promote a deeper sense of understanding of your relationship with yourself and others.
